Radio Metachat uses a Shoutcast server to enable streaming radio over the Internet, and is funded by user donations. Various MetaChat members occasionally broadcast music over this stream after announcing their sets by a post to the main page. Many users also log onto IRC while broadcasting, which functions as a "Listener Line." The Radio MetaChat page gives you information on how to listen, how to broadcast, and how to donate; as well as what's currently playing and what's played recently.

Radio Metachat is streamed using Shoutcast, which most modern players can handle. Players known to work are: Winamp, iTunes, Foobar, NiceCast (Mac), XMMS (Linux).

If you want to know how to set yourself up as a DJ:

It is customary to post a setlist after your program is complete, though it's against the rules to announce songs before they play. The full rules are disclosed to each DJ before their first broadcast, and are available from mudpuppie or LoudCity's site.
