Safetyfork is the opposite of Deadlyfork.

Cork on a Fork is also a way to describe Safetyfork despite the actual lack of cork on the fork, but the lessening of the length of the forktooth or forkprong is what is being described.

In truth, Safetyfork is a sub-nickname of another nickname: Safetypup. He was christened Safetypup for his near OCD preoccupation with the personal safety of himself and others under otherwise normal conditions.
There really are deadlyforks in his home, to which he offers houseguests a choice of a safetyfork or a deadlyfork with their salad.
