Life in a small city So I found out I didn't get a job I interviewed for and at the same time was told at work that I'd be replacing someone who was leaving for a new job. What's his new job? The one I interviewed for. Sigh. He's a good guy and has a newborn baby so I don't begrudge him at all but wow is this place tiny and incestuous.

This is my downstairs neighbor. She died. It's all too sad, and our building (our apartment building isn't *that* big, for NYC, about 60 units) is very sober right now.

It's so weird, because I only know the parents to nod hello to, but their little girl was super outgoing and sweet. I'm going to leave flowers at their door tomorrow, but I can't really think of anything else to do. How devastating for them.
