Of all the nerve Now bear with me because I'm not sure I get it

There are systems that can block cellphone use, n'est–ce pas? Why don't they use them in for theaters?
But, really,
what the hell is wrong with people?
Trying to charge your phone on stage is beyond beyond but do they really think the people on stage can't hear and see them, not to mention the rest of the audience? Do there need to be basic etiquette lessons in the lobby?
I mean, besides the fact I've had to abandon many an event because someone got beeped for a life threatening event, I really doubt most audience members need to be summoned at a moment's notice for anything ever. If your child is in threat of dying or kidnap or you're waiting on a call why are you going out? And what about those of us purposefully flouting etiquette, you self absorbed nincompoops are ruining it for everybody.
Personally, I think they should enable a theater monitor who is empowered to publicly shame people and yank them out. They use to have people in movie theaters. I doubt things are as bad in the West End.
(If this even posts, I'd like to note this was a very buggy experience.)
