Bumpystock Previously: 1 2. Trying to nail down a date for Bunnystock II. I need your help. Come inside.[More:]

Click the first link to visit the date poll, and vote if you haven't. I'll let the poll run for the rest of today, and then pick a date based on the results. If two dates are tied, then I will create another poll and let you guys vote for just one date. Democracy!

I need to hear from the "maybe" folks. TPS made a good point in the other thread; by voting for these dates, you are affecting which date is chosen, and possibly leaving out people who would definitely come. So, safetyfork, box, and brujita, please reply in thread (or change your votes on the poll) with your likelihood of attending.

I'm probably trying too hard to include everyone. Tell me to relax.
The date poll is in the second link.

Relax.

First link. The one that says Bumpystock.

Relax, mike.

I'm pretty likely, but not certain, to attend. If you'd like to remove my date choices from the calculations, that seems pretty reasonable, especially since almost any date would work for me.

Ohhhh, THAT first link. Der.

I don't think there should be a thousand and one polls. I think you should decide a date based on this poll, and let the cards fall where they may. Because people involved in the discussion now will bail, and people not involved at all will decide to come later. Set the date and be done with it, so people can start to make their plans.

Well, TPS, that would be two polls, and I pretty much made this post in response to your comment in the other thread.

I'm not trying to steal anyone's Christmas or anything. I voted for the days that I could attend as I already have plans made for those other weekends. I'd like to go but I can't make any guarantees. I don't know what you mean about changing my votes in the poll, but I was able to delete my entry. I hope that helps even things out with the maybes. On preview: sigh.

What safetyfork said.

All right. I didn't mean anything by anything.

Fuck.

Relax, mike.

Sorry, I'm just dealing with some personal issues as well, and it's been hard for me to relax and just make plans. I overthink and try to make everyone happy.

I'll make a decision soon.

mike9322, I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it. I couldn't vote for other days or indicate/change my status in the poll other than the way I already had, deleting the votes seemed like the best action I could take in the poll to remove the influence of a "maybe-r". If the gathering lands on a weekend that I can go, all the better for me and I hope to be there. But since I can't make any guarantees, and others seemed to take umbrage at a vote from someone who is maybe attending, taking my voice out seemed the sensible thing to do. You're trying to get the dates that work best for as many people as possible (not an easy job). There's no hard feelings here, I be there if I can.

On preview, this time what box said! It's totally cool mike. No worries.

Also, thank you for taking this on. I couldn't organize a meet-up out of a paper bag at the moment.

What safetyfork said, again, especially the thank you part.

I think it's a good point, too, that picking a date sooner rather than later might help to ensure the largest group of attendees--travel plans are easier to make when they're far in advance.

On preview: What TPS said, too.

Don't worry Mikeums. Remember you're a participant too - don't let the planning portion of the program interfere with the hang-outness objective of the 'stock. Easy to say when one isn't the Planner, b/c it's stressful (I've done it for other events, & it is stressful as hell. I'm sure mgl can well attest, also.)

Let Doodle pick the date. Then assemble a few options/cool bars/eats/places to stay/hear music/shoot pool in the area, and people can choose if they want & leave it up to them, kinda like 'stock 1. Self organization is a beautiful thing. :)

What if we honor the previous 'stock host(ess) by letting her pick out a theme (interpreted however one likes) for this year's 'stock? So mgl can tell us all this year's theme is "Humidity". Or "iPodless". Or "Serves 4".

FWIW, Burning Man's theme this year is Green Man.

This Year's Theme is MGL Is Not Organizing Diddly Squat. Yay! okay, not that I was all super organized or anything last year either, but this year? I am just going to sort of drift around. I drift well.

MIKE I AM NOT HAPPY! YOU ARE NOT OVERTHINKING THIS ENOUGH!

Good thing I'm not going, then. It almost always falls on me to organize diddly-squat. And frankly, I'm tired of it.
