Rock 'n' Roll News This is an excellent overview of Creem magazine's "news" page during the mid-1970s, where you could find items like:

“And yup, that was Dylan leading Cher, George Harrison, Tony Curtis, Dean Martin, and David Cassidy in a conga line at the big bash about the Queen Mary a couple weeks back.”
[More:]

And:

“Keith Moon’s in another kind of jam: he was fined $35 for not having a license for his 12-gauge shotgun. Said Moon to the court, ‘Do you take American Express cards?'"

I love this stuff.
“And yup, that was Dylan leading Cher, George Harrison, Tony Curtis, Dean Martin, and David Cassidy in a conga line at the big bash about the Queen Mary a couple weeks back.”

And if that didn't harbinger the apocalypse then, the human race shall surely go on forever...

Boy Howdy! I never really liked Rolling Stone, but Creem was an essential part of my young musical schooling. They had fun with their musical coverage and they were cool doing it. Most of what I listened to in the late 70's/early 80's was covered in Creem and Trouser Press. Great years for rock coverage.

God but I miss Creem. They tried to revive it online a couple of years ago, but I don't think it ever amounted to much.

Then again, look what I just found when I went to their front page: a new anthology! What is it you kids say? I'll be in my bunk?

Also, I'd take anything that appeared in the News section at Creem with a grain or two of salt, especially items that having Dylan leading conga lines. those guys were not above making things up if they were funny enough.
