The Kinks- "This Time Tomorrow" I've been sort of obsessed with this song ever since hearing it on this movie trailer I linked a couple of weeks ago. It's also sent me on little bit of a Kinks binge... more songs (hits and lesser-known tracks) inside![More:]

"A Well Respected Man"
"Till The End Of The Day"
"You Really Got Me"
"The Village Green Preservation Society"
"Big Sky"
"People Take Pictures Of Each Other"
"Victoria"
"Yes Sir, No Sir"
"Shangri-La"
"Destroyer"
"A Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy"
"Rats"
"Lola"
Yay, Kinks! I go on a Kinks binge myself every so often - this is great! Thank you!

Thanks for those! :)

After I broke up with my first real boyfriend, he would leave poems on my car for me to find. It wasn't until a decade later that it finally hit me that his entire breakup poetry collection consisted of plagiarized Kinks songs. I remember receiving this one in particular.

Glad y'all are enjoying them!

And miss lynnster, I wish I was a screenwriter, because I would *SO* work that story into a screenplay. Heh heh heh!!! That is too much.

You should've seen me when I first recognized that song was one of his old poems. Someone had given me a copy of a movie soundtrack and I was listening to it for the first time. I even remember that I was headed eastbound on the 134 freeway in Burbank. Suddenly Elvis Costello comes on, singing some cover tune. I find myself singing to it enthusiastically as I drove. Then suddenly I stopped and thought, "Wait. Why am I singing to this? Why do I know these words? They are REALLY REALLY familiar..." I almost got into an accident trying to pull off the freeway so I could rip apart the CD's liner notes. When I saw that the song was written by Ray Davies it all clicked. I knew he was a HUGE Kinks fan, so everything suddenly made perfect sense.

lynnster, I think that most guys have done that, at one time or other. I tried to use more obscure sources than the Kinks, but, yeah, guilty over here too.
