Seems to me the advantage of Vegas is that it's cheap to fly to. Several people have expressed distaste for it, though.

Any alternate suggestions?

The geographic centre of the US is near Lebanon, Kansas. Maybe we could meet there.

amberglow, TrishaLynn's parents have offered up their timeshare right on the strip. Very good deal (for those willing to bunk up together!) - see the interest thread for a few more details.

I have a distaste for vegas but I'd go to hang out with you guys. I said I was 25% confirmed but I can bump that up to 51% if it would help.

Though I pretty much loath it, Las Vegas isn't that far for me. I could and would totally Greyhound there.

I'm also open to camping somewhere I could Greyhound to and hitch a ride from the station, or bike to.

Camping for extended regional meetups can be really nice. Reserve a group campground somewhere quiet and out of the way. Cheap per-person cost. No shortage of room or sleeping space.

Sorry, Asheville, I just. . don't. .camp.

In the sense of a tent. I do in the sense of a drag show, which is why I favor Vegas.

Although eth, it's in the mountains, it'd be temperate.
