You know what's a bummer? I'll tell you.→[More:] When, after 1,118 comments and almost six years, you have to be the one to close the famous 'bummer thread' to new comments. Unfortunately it's now overtaxing the server (or something to do with hamsters - I'm not quite sure of the technical details) to the extent that it's impossible to submit a new comment without an error message appearing. That, my friends, is a bummer.

Ha. I think I was the first to see that error. I wrote an obituary post for 'the bummer'.

Six years is an eternity in internet years. Seeing the beginnings of that thread makes me a bit sad: slightly familiar user handles that I haven't seen in a long time.

At some point we won't see eachother online either. Without notice.
So I'd like to say right now in advance: goodbye.

A friend and bunny posted this today: Bacon cinnamon rolls.

Ingredients
10 slices bacon
1 can (17.5 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing (5 rolls)
Steps:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray 8- or 9-inch round pan.
2. Separate dough into 5 rolls. Unroll rolls. Cook bacon until crisp. While bacon is still warm, place 2 slices bacon on top of 1 unrolled roll; roll back up. Repeat to use up rolls and bacon. Place cinnamon rolls in pan.
3. Bake 25 to 29 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Spread with icing; serve warm

I don't know if email notifications still work for other people not me, but it seems sad that rich would not get a notification for a comment on all of bummer thread's children.
