12 December 2013

Dearly departed metachat post It seems that occhiblu's recent comment pushed the 5 1/2 yr old metachat post over the edge of allowed bytes...
And I never posted in it, or even, I don't think, knew it was there. *sniff*

Me neither. People like us, by not being in the loop, make the loop possible. A loop with everyone in it is no loop at all.

Maybe it got fixed? I just posted in that thread and it "worked for me".

Well now I feel bad.

THANKS, jouke. THANKS A LOT.

;-)

Hm, it seem that I accused occhi falsely of post-slaughter; first it was octo and second it seems to have been a transient glitch...

Resurrection!

The bummer thread will outlive us all.

Heh, it always amazes me when I get an email telling me that it has received a new comment! It seems to live forever! And...the 1100th post is available!

The Creator is amongst us!

That's a lot of email richat.

You know what's NOT a bummer? Being blissfully unaware of an epic thread until you can get to make the 1100th comment. But don't fret, I'll have a few (dozen) real bummers to contribute later today.

I made an FPP here about the bummer thread in 2012 and, um, someone with your username made a comment in that thread.

janetland & foop are feigning ignorance!

Well shit, now I guess I know what my evening read will consist of.

Yes, clearly I was so confused that I thought it better to resolve the cognitive dissonance by pretending the whole thing never happened.

My shortterm memory is so bad that I posted in the thread ABOUT the Bummer Thread, then forgot to post IN the Bummer thread. Now, THAT'S a bummer. And who ARE you people?

In other news, Old Faithful quits its spouting.

I posted in that thread a few times and then forgot how to find it. Glad to have a title to search for again.

I gave a little gasp and then read this thread while the other one was loading. Guess I don't need coffee now.

I remember thinking about how much has changed for lots of us since that thread began! I may, in fact, have made a comment to that effect in the thread. Forgive me if I'm repeating myself!
posted by richat 13 December | 11:38
Indeed. As I said in the thread a year or two ago, I was four months pregnant when it started. Now I gotta 5 year old.

I always appreciate it when it pops up on recent comments, but by sheer size, I have to have something pretty good or just really feel like it to load it up to comment.

Can we dub this one Son of Bummer thread? Or one that just needs to be preserved? Maybe a best gifs and images thread.

Nothing's been up to being an actual bummer today-- the delivery person just walking through my supposedly locked porch, scaring the bejezus out of Bees, and that being like the nth time they cannot figure out what "door with the light, through the gate, without snow" means almost qualifies, and seeing a place actually called "mainstream boutique" fills me more with a kind of disturbed awe-- no, i think the only real bummer is that i'm all tired and achy from the last 30some hour work spurt.

You know what's not a bummer? rmless' personalized holiday card. I opened it maybe an hour ago and it was delightful. I'd post that inside picture except that is her perogative. You guys are adorable.
Also, if you get a book at Barnes & Nobles with a coupon and a discount, it's almost the same price as Amazon. Hello, My Lunch with Orson. It turned out there was some kind of school charity event going on, so if I bought something, they would get a donation if i requested it, and surprisingly they didn't have any books about Gore Vidal's sex life. Actually I'm surprised that had anything i wanted and i couldn't really check parts because of the crowd and the marching band. I think some people were upset I was asking for In Bed with Gore Vidal. It's not my school, people who would not get out of the way.

Of course, The Bees being sick is a bummer. That thread and she are about the same age. So we've finally gone eco and away with the environmental disaster that is clay litter. That's kind of a tale.

I should probably pass out now.
