NYU Hawkcam is back! →[More:]

One of my favorite, favorite things has returned... A live streaming video of Bobbie and Rosie's red-tailed hawk nest on the 12th floor ledge of NYU's Bobst Library, overlooking Washington Square Park.

Word is, there are three eggs, with the first potential hatchling due in early April. So excited!

My friend has an apt near bobst and one time when we were on her balcony, one of the hawks flew over and sat on the wall next to us!

I was sad after the death of Violet (mother to Pip!), and didn't think to look for the hawkcam until it was too late last year, so I'm especially delighted to see it now. There's a good view of Rosie on the nest at the moment, facing the camera. Such a pretty girl!

That nest looks cozy. I love how humans take such deep interest in other kinds of animals. Make my heart feel good.
