Any Bunnies planning on keeping Passover? [More:]I am!

Here is the matzo lasagna that I make (well I change some things, but the recipe is the basis). I like that the directions say in it that adding the water is gross but you have to do it.

Any other favorite tried and true recipes?
Especially ones that will use up this KFP cake flour and matzo meal I have?
That sounds pretty good!

I know of potato flour substitutions that have worked okay. Matzo tends to a leaden quality according to friends but I personally have yet to experiment. I was thinking about it, if for nothing else, I keep getting sale ads for really versatile seder plates.

On the Christ-ier side of things, I'm planning to make a crazy mess o' designer eggs, as Easter is the holiest of holidays: The Bees' birthday. Besides her birthday regalia, we may just be x-ing the door with blood and blasting Patti Smith. It's going to be a busy week.

I admit I never do a darn thing any more. I don't even buy egg matzoh! But proud to know a matzoh lasagne maker.

I will be keeping Passover for the duration of the seder tonight. Our service is short but we take the 4 glasses of wine thing pretty seriously.

I don't really observe passover, but bought matzo for matzo brei. There goes being low carb for a while.

Ha! Obscure reference, that was great.
This year I have thought of the best idea I have probably ever had :
Instead if matzo brei I am going to make matzo chilaquiles, or as we have been calling them in advance here, matzoquiles.

we are flying out to LA over the weekend to hang out with mr. lfr's grandparents (who are in their 90s and both still active / working).

the mister's birthday is semi-coincidental with the annual Passover trip to the folks, so this year I'm planning to make a flourless chocolate cake to go with the rest of the spread. Still trying to settle on a recipe tho.

I'm a bad Jew. We're having pork chops tonight.

No family gathering this year, or last. Mom's in Assisted Living and sister-in-law just had wrist surgery (I think she's retired from making Seder anyway, hasn't for a few years now). I do miss my mom's matzo ball soup and chopped liver. At one time, we were twelve around the dining room table, just the immediate family. Everyone's scattered, disabled, or dead now. I'm lucky to have the memories, I suppose.

On a personal level, I'm proud of my Jewish heritage, but I'm an atheist/humanist, so I don't follow the customs myself anymore. Funny, you do lose a certain center when it's gone. Maybe I'll make some matzo ball soup. I'd need some schmaltz.

Did you see the story about how the President is attending his usual seder tonight???

P.S. -- there are recipes at the end of the linked article! Who knew?

I firmly believe that you can be culturally Jewish without being the least bit religious. While I don't care if my son gets any Jewish religious training, I do plan to expose him to the cultural aspects of the religion that I grew up with - most importantly, the food. I think Judaism is somewhat unique in that it's a culture as well as a religion.

As far as Passover, we attended a Seder last night but that will be the extent of my observance. Though I may make some fried matzoh (what I grew up calling matzoh brie).
