Trilby usually does this when I'm taking before and after renovation pics. He just keeps wandering in front of the camera. I don't stop him because the reno pics with him in it always get the most viewings on my Flickr account, even when the photo was otherwise nothing special.

I've seen the list of what people find most interesting in photos, and "animals" are second on the list, right after "people".
