Yay, furniture music! I do love Erik Satie. Just recently picked up this book which I haven't read yet, but apparently it starts way back before Satie, even.

I'm going to celebrate by whistling the same note all day.

The Gymnopédies is the closest thing I've ever heard to my internal background music.

I happen to be Dysthymic, and this track sounds a great voice to both the sadness I always feel and the great "held back" feeling of possible joy that overlays it.

Thanks for posting, BP.

I missed his birthday? I'm a bad person.

I always associate Trois Gymnopédies with an interstitial shown on Montreal tv when I was a kid, showing winter scenes and our palomino police horses. Cinq Nocturnes is quite nice, too.

Wow, hadn't realized who this was or this song, but I know it well despite all that, and it sounds like coming home for me.
