Donna Summer : 1948-2012. RIP Not her most famous song, but my favourite.
The documentary Synth Brittannia made me realise how unprecedented synthesizer and sequencer music was. They mention a template of clinical technical synthesizer sounds with emotional singing by a woman or gay man. And the 1977 I Feel Love is a perfect example.
She and Giorgio Moroder made a classic song.

Love both of those songs. RIP, Donna!

Two of my favorites from her were Once Upon A Time and Bad Girls.

For a club DJ I Feel Love was a chance to test dancers endurance. The 12 inch mix had great mixing points and you could keep people on the floor for about 18 minutes.

RIP DS.

I downloaded the 12" mix and have been listening to it all afternoon.

It's terribly sad - 63 is too young.
