The SLO Experiment Tilt Shift comes to my area, making it look like the toy town it really is.[More:]
Some scenes aren't 'pulled back' enough for best effect, IMO, but the views of Cal Poly University (about a quarter of the scenes), Morro Bay (with that big Rock), Avila Beach (the sunset), our Itty Bitty Airport and the Amtrak train passing through are quite cool. Not enough agricultural scenes though. Yes, we have a lot of hills, and a LOT of houses with red roofs (obligatory for California towns), and yes, that blue-and-yellow double decker bus is for real... and controversial.
Ha! I love it. You're right that some of the shots are too zoomed-in (the ones where you can see detail on the people spoil the "miniature" illusion), but most of this are terrific.

This is LT's old stomping grounds too. He'll love this.

I know that so many people hate on tilt shift but I love it. It reminds me of little Polly Pocket toys with wee little people.

My favorite tilt-shift currently is the one in the credits for the BBC Sherlock, but these are really good too.

So cool! And what's to hate on tilt-shift?

And I had forgotten what a pretty piece of California that SLO actually is. Thanks, osf!
