Next in line in the syllabus is John Barth's Welcome to the Funhouse. I am a big Barth fan, and haven't read that one, so I'd be happy if we decide to read it next.

Also, when shall we set our next discussion? Would everybody be OK with December 6? FYI I will be on vacation starting 12/10 through 12/18, though I think I will have some limited internet access.

Ditto zarq: Barth or Pynchon are fine with me! For me, one of the advantages to a book club (other than the FANTASTIC discussions) is that something other than my own preferences shapes my reading.

I'm keen to read the Barth book, personally. And early December should be fine. I'll be writing like a fiend all through November, but I'm sure I can make it by then.

Barth sounds good to me, and so does the 6th.

Pynchon sounds good to me...BUT, Im going to have to sit this month out anyway. So if all goes well, maybe I'll be able to participate in the next one...and maybe it'll by Pynchon!
