Wow .. amazing photos. I love how this guy managed to come up with a new way to shoot .. a frog's-eye perspective, as the article says. He's something of a hunk himself. Thanks for posting this.

The photos are STUNNING. I admire his tenacity. Because this:
He added: 'The high red blood platelet count signalled that I was carrying a lot of parasites. This included numerous species of internal worm parasites and a particularly nasty external worm parasite known as Hook Worm.
'This worm was actually visible under the skin of my foot and would move at night. It became a game to find the worm in my foot each morning.'

No. No no no.

Not to mention the whole malaria thing.

Well now and I'm sure you go through the same privations for your photos of bento and pancakes in the wild, gomi :)

Seriously, these are amazing.

Much safer to capture a few frames of a squirrel bending an elbow.

I'll show myself out.

To be fair this guy didn't have to deal with any hungry toddlers during his shoots.

Unbelievable shots. Worms, uh no thanks.

Isn't 270 hours 11 days, not 3 months?

N/M. It was 3 hours a day for 3 months, not a continuous stretch. Now I'll show myself the exit. LOL

I'd imagine that with modern technology and a bit of ingenuity, he could get a remotely controlled set-up put in place, saving him the fun game of "where is my hook worm tonight," but then he'd be without the news write-ups.

Snark aside, fantastic shots.

Worms and parasites and malaria, oh my!

They are wonderful photos from a great point of view. I'm glad it was worth it to him to get the shots.
