Metaradio test. More news in the coming days. Sorry to all of you I need to get back to via email. I'm trying to make radio more accessible and more frequent. Not as easy as I thought.
My laptop with the MeRad edcast installed died and I haven't gotten around to trying to set it up again... but then, I can't find your old 'how to setup' doc and haven't emailed you to resend it... sorry, just being as flaky and irresponsible as the average professional radio guy... (based on my 1970s-1980s experience)
Still, if there's anyway I can help, you know where to find me, don't you?
Did you ever hear my "Casey Kasem yelled at me on live TV" story?
Back when the L.A. Public TV station used an On-Air Auction to raise money, I volunteered the year they tried a 'live bidding' approach; Casey was the host/auctioneer and I was one of 30 people in the phone bank. We were supposed to stand up and yell out bids from whoever we had on the phone, but the caller couldn't hear me well and I couldn't hear him and I had to cover my other ear and I couldn't hear Casey. As a result, I was yelling out amounts that were 1 or 2 bids behind everyone else. The 3rd or 4th time that happened, he pointed at me and yelled "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP". (He could've yelled worse; have you ever heard the swearing on Casey's outtakes reel?)
Later, Casey's wife, the blonde, buxom and foot-taller-than-him Jean Kasem approached me back stage; I thought for a second she'd beat me up (because she could; the lady's an Amazon) but she apologized on her husband's behalf...
Enjoying the mix of music, whether arse hat or LoudCaster deserves more credit for it, but it's repeating. (Fell asleep with it on at 3AM, awoke at 9:30, shocked to hear it still going and realize LoudCaster sets up a 24/7 stream) Still, this is the second time I've heard what was supposed to be "Hot Rod Lincoln" but was only 30 seconds of loud hiss. And the third running of "19" and Elwood's "Sundown"? Need fresh tunes!!!
