I'm home sick. It's the day after my birthday. But I'm not faking, I swear.[More:]I didn't do anything interesting last night; husband was out of town and I had to work all day. This is going to seem suspicious, though. :( Anyway, commiseration appreciated.
I totally sympathize. A few years ago I got a wicked ear infection on the night of my birthday and didn't go to work the next day because I went to the ER at 5 am and stayed for several hours. Even with documentation and meds, there was a lot of suspicion and NO FUN WAS HAD!

Can you at least have some limited enjoyment by watching great movies or maybe ordering in some food? (I always use illness as an excuse to break my diet and drink strawberry soda!)

I hope you feel better soon.

Me too! But it's not the day after my birthday. But it is the second day in a row. But I called my manager both days and definitely sounded like shit on the phone so other than probably losing vacation time (boooo) and not being able to update my timecard (we get annoying email notices when we don't) I don't think they're going to be too suspicious.

Soup! Lots of soup!

I once got sick and had to go home ON my birthday. And since my boss was crazy, I'm sure he didn't believe me, but I was seriously out of it.

Get well soon! Between you, mathowie, and a friend here in Colorado, I have way too much to worry about, so cross yourself off that list, OK?
