Mikos and Nekos and LTs, OH MY!→[More:]
Tonight Miko and I are going to see Miss Neko Case at the Music Hall.
This thread is to talk about how great Neko Case music is.
I want Neko to be my new girlfriend. It's that simple.
I am also still a tad bummed out because when I took Sophie to see Neko at Massey Hall this summer, I spent all my cash-on-hand to buy a t-shirt for Soph - I had to let her commemorate her first concert in style! - but it left me too low on cash for a super cool poster for the new place I was sure I'd have soon. Really, I should have just planned better, and made sure I had more $$ for merch. The time before though, when I'd seen her at Trinity Church (same place that the Cowboy Junkies recorded that fantastic first record) there was scant merch.
Now, I am in my new place, and I don't have a poster. Oh sure, Sophie's still got her SHIRT. And she's still a great kid. And, that Neko Case show blew her 8 year old mind. And I got to feel like the best dad in the world that night.
Anyway I digress. Given how much BOTH Sophie and Evelyn love Neko, I think it's reasonable to hope that I can date her. No?
Dad used to take us to see jazz shows at this place in San Antonio when I was in grade school. The first rock show I ever saw was some sort of DoD event (Elizabeth Taylor was at it) in Washington DC. Dad took us; Meatloaf performed. It was awesome.
I think I'm on The Tigers Have Spoken somewhere, going "whoooo!"
I went to the Toronto shows she recorded them at, both the Lee's Palace one and the Matador (at 4am!)
Seen her a bunch of times. Always a great show.
Richat - You're better off without the poster. Because when Neko comes over to your place, it would be *really* uncomfortable if you already had her poster up on the wall, wou'nnit? Totally blow the date. Anyway... Neko at Trinity? ZOMG Jealous!
