food. goopy goopy deliciousness. [More:]
tomatoes in a pan (local, organic, on sale),
a clove of garlic (unchopped, 'cause those things are tasty!),
a lemon from the neighbor's yard (they said they'd never manage to use 'em all, so go for it),
basil and chard from the back yard,
2 year aged cheddar (local, organic, melts well),
bulk hummus (the "just add water!" sort), and
olive oil (local, organic).

furthermore, it is persimmon season.

California is delicious.
all together? What did this add up to? I'm having a hard time picturing the finished meal. It sounds amazing though.

For us, basil time is done, and we're on to squash and kale time.

It added up to a big pile of goop. It's not the sort of thing I'd serve for the masses, but certainly added up to bliss for the taste buds. Hippy bachelor food, perhaps.

It's squash and kale time 'round here, too. Some of the basil is flowering, 'tis true.
