Univision would likely increase their viewership by 40% if they added subtitles. So many times I have lingered on the channel to see something that I would love to watch but can't understand. Thus, I keep flipping.

I don't know a lick more spanish than the average american college grad, but it was enough to understand all but the fine points of an argument I chanced upon in a Univision talk show. It was actually quite an interesting little experience.

If Univision had their version of Sesame Street 5 times a week, non-spanish speakers could possibly learn the language through immersion over the course of a year of so, especially in this age of DVRs. A possible avenue for expanding their audience?

That would be awesome. I wish I knew spanish (more than ever now, since I'm looking for work and being bilingual is a major plus).
