I went to Lyon to see Amadou & Mariam live and here are the photos! Eeeeeee! →[More:]Highlights:

- the live version of I Follow You, which I can't find a video of, but which brought tears to my eyes
- Mariam shouting "show! show!" or "choc! choc! (shock! shock!) or perhaps something else at the beginning of the songs to get people clapping (in this video, she does it about three-quarters of the way through), then peppering various awesome parts of songs with "yeah!"
- the half-hour-long encore
- Amadou going *CRAZY* on his gold guitar - we're talking a mind-blowing five-minute electric guitar solo here. On a gold guitar. I've never seen a crowd so rapt.
- the view from the hostel
- the tasty tuna steak (actually, the tasty everything)
- doing something for me for once, even if it's a bit impractical to bus-fly-train-metro-trolleybus-walk-train-fly-taxi-train-taxi it across Europe and back in two days
- me realizing I'm kind of a good photographer, or me realizing that I'm pretty good at picking out cameras :)
