I don't get why all these other websites make youtube channels. I man, I get it, but what do they get out of putting their content on another site? Where google rakes in all the ad dough?

dabitch, I think in etsy's case it may be because they're really not known much outside the diy/craft community. They don't do google ads or anything on their own site, they make their money from the listing fees, so any chance to drive business to their site would be good.
