I'm a sap no doubt but I teared up at the latest from 106-year-old Ann Nixon Cooper.
That part of the speech really moved me. It was a great way of illustrating a wide span of history with a very personal story - the sign of a great speechwriter and speaker.

This is truly amazing. I'm so happy she is alive to see this day. What a thrill for her and her family that she was mentioned in his speech.

George Wallace's daughter is an Obama supporter, is also inspiring.

I am also very impressed that Obama personally called so many people. We have all heard and read how organized the campaign was. The day we voted the local volunteers called my husband and thanked him for voting. They were canvasing in our neighborhood on November 4 and parked in our driveway. (I guess they knew they were welcome.)

Lori, thanks for sharing that article. I had no idea... I'm not surprised she is, but I didn't realize how much he had changed. It's sad that in a lot of cases when people do turn over a new leaf history only remembers what came before. Reminds me of this.
