So, who's watching the tennis?→[More:]I'm really enjoying it- it's good to see a proper match. There hasn't been a good match since Gasquet vs Muray on Monday. who else is watching?
Great match... Venus saving all those break points was amazing. I think they both played well, but it was Venus' day. I love Serena, too, but at Wimbledon I have to root for Venus. Looking forward to their doubles.
Tomorrow should be a battle, with Nadal and Federer. I don't know why I've never liked Federer as much as I should. Maybe because he's been so dominant for so long (except at the French). But he's grown on me. Fabulous player. Nadal's gonna give him a run for his money, though. Beautiful to watch, Nadal. I think Nadal's stronger, at this point, but Federer's more consistent, and has the edge on grass, I think.
I'm lucky to have the U.S. Open right down the road from me, so to speak, here in Queens. I went for the first time last year and loved it. I will definitely be there again this year.
I'm nearly of a mind with BoP - the two sisters are tied now overall at 8-8 in matches won.
I thought I read somewhere that their svengali father the put pressure on, so one of them would win and the other lose when they played each other, and alternate one sister over the other.
Of course, I'd like to see more variety in the women's event overall. They should just start calling this event Williamsdon.
I never learned the rules of tennis, much less played it, so I really can't get into watching it. I don't understand how points are scored or anything.
Sometime, I need to learn how to play, 'cause it's always looked like fun...
I'm a bit fickle when it comes to tennis - I follow Wimbledon because it's on the BBC (and this year because I'm recovering from surgery and have little else to do) but otherwise don't keep up with it. If I lived in Queens that might change (lucky Pips)!
I didn't smell a fix and thought they both fought hard. It could easily have gone to 3 sets, and it's a shame it didn't, from a crowd point of view.
Should be a great match tomorrow, but unfortunately the weather forecast isn't good. It'll be great to see someone give Federer a run for his money. I appreciate he's great player, but perfect tennis can be boring to watch if the match is unbalanced.
