three point status update 1. my folks are splitting up. needless to say, I'm a wreck. Although I'm sure it also goes without saying that they're both much worse.
2. I'm involved in a huge collaborative project with a local leather worker/craftsman and photographer with a steampunk theme. We're casting models next weekend. I'm very excited.
3. I got a car. It's a purple 96 cavalier. The wellbutrin didn't get me to quit smoking, but I think it's the only thing making me able to drive. (I passed a bad accident today and only momentarily panicked).

So sorry dear :-(

1. I'm packed! And near certain that I must be forgetting something important. But what is it?????
2. Nervous that flying US Airways will be some unexpected nightmare (I usually fly Delta, but I'm trying a new airline because Delta really really sucks), as opposed to the expected nightmare of Delta.
3. Saying goodbye to my apartment and all my belongings. Goodbye, bike. Goodbye, picture of Smike. Goodbye, lamp. Goodbye, stamps.

I've flown US Airways many times, no complaints to speak of. I only stopped because Jet Blue added Buffalo and they're usually at least $100 less.

LaGuardia airport in NYC has got to be one of the circles of hell, it's just ridiculous. At least it has been when I fly Delta. Hopefully this will be a new and better experience!

1. I'm going on a by-myself vacation to pick up a gift Buick in Sacto and pal around SF for the weekend. I wonder what kind of trouble I can get into.

2. I dyed my hair rather light blonde and it makes me want to streak it with pink, but I don't want to upset Grandpa (in Sacto).

3. My ex-landlord is SUCH a bum that he's neither returned our deposit NOR forwarded any mail to me in the pre-stamped flat rate enveloped I left with him - MY TAX REFUND, PLEASE. I'm gonna pay him a visit on the way home to SoCal. I have no choice.

I just got back from seeing Eddie Izzard in Memphis, and goddamn, that was an awesome show. I physically hurt from the laughter.
My baby now has a t-shirt that declares I'M COVERED IN BEES! I now have a "cake or death" shirt.
I feel very sad for kellydamnit.

2. Still unemployed.
3. I got "stimulated" by the president yesterday.

Kelly, sorry about the folks. Mine split up after 28 years not so long ago. And now my closest friend's parents here in Portland are splitting up too. I give you hugs.

Also, that's awesome about the steampunk thing. I didn't realize how much its appeal had grown till I ran into these girls at Fanime. Good stuff.

Also, I tried Welbutrin recently too, but it jacked up my anxiety levels beyond the tolerable. Good old cheap, reliable Prozac seems about all my body can handle.

1) Flying home from Latvia today! Have to mail a bunch of stuff first, then pray that I can flirt my way out of paying $100 for excess baggage (since I have a connecting ticket to the US, they might just let me!), then waddle across London for the night, then toss the bag into the bag-munching machines at Terminal 5 at Heathrow, and emerge what will feel like nine days later in LA. Whew!
2) Latvia's turned out all right, despite being robbed and living one zillion miles from work...like all endings, bittersweet.
3) Have to go mop!

1. Working from home today, I have four cases to work on, but they should be easy ones. That will, I hope, give me time to go to the supermarket. Our IT Dept did not get back to me on my request for a Big Brother token so I can't log into the system at the office. So they can't keep an eye on me, although my manager will probably phone me at home at some point.

2. Today I will chase up some agencies about jobs.

3. When will spring be here? It's so dull and wet and the moisture in the air makes my hair so frizzy.

TPS, I would rather walk than fly US Airways after they left me and several thousand other people stranded across the USA one Saturday night when they decided they "didn't have enough crew available to fly any planes". Not one plane. From anywhere. WTF? I hope you have a better experience.

Echoing the sympathy for kellydamnit.

1. Neck-spasm induced insomnia sucks, especially when you can't get to your neck brace because you don't remember which box it's in.

2. I think I see how and why high-powered executives have personal assistants and servants. Things are so hectic at work that I think I need an assistant.

3. Successfully rolled a natural 20 on my "Save Friendship" check last night. Let's hope I keep the roll going!

1.Learned that my uncle meant Switzerland and not the Dupont estate when he told me some lumias were going to Winterthur. Am planning trip.

2. STILL haven't finished straightening up master bedroom and the doormen keep calling to "ask if the super and contractor can come in for a few minutes". NO!!!! I said before I will let the contractor know when I'm damn good and ready. I still don't like it that the super denied there's been work going on upstairs since last fall when I have a time-stamped picture of the work permit.

3.My father told me that the autographed picture of Maurice Chevalier with my grandmother and great-aunt(which is the only thing that I wanted) is now "being digitized at my brother's". Golden Boy and I are not speaking, so this means it isn't likely that I will ever see it again.

1. I'm feeling quite melancholy. Which means that I'm quite cranky about having to be at work and I would much rather be holed up somewhere crying. :(

2. I've found places to move to and that seems like it is possibly moving in the correct direction, albeit very, very sloooooowly.

3. There have been 2 requests in over an hour at work. I think I might just shoot myself in the face.

1. Need to get my own apartment soon soon. My colleague and his family are good people, but a 40 year old man cannot be a room-mate long term and maintain sanity.
2. Square, sliced, cellophane-wrapped bread is a crime against humanity.
3. Upbeat!!! Time to design a website, first in years, scrape off the rust and get back into designer and copywriter mode, wee!!!

1. Meeting went well this morning, everyone liked my idea and it went a lot more smoothly than I expected. They usually hate on everything they didn't come up with themselves.
2. Still haven't found envelope of money. I know I am going to find it a week after getting back and not be able to do anything with the foreign bills.
3. Upset that this will probably be my last night with the bf since I am going on this vacation and he is moving away during.

1. Haven't been around for a while -- teaching a class for 2.5 hours straight four days a week (hello, summer school) makes me somewhat less social.

2. So does the fact that Express Scripts has taken a whole WEEK so far to process my scrip, and I'm out of my antidepressant. I'm not so much depressed as obsessively anxious and hyperactive right now (I guess it's been controlling my ADHD as well as OCD and depression).

3. On the other hand, I made my first fpp on metafilter. It's catfilter, not chatfilter (unless you're French).

Glad to be back! I've been catching up on y'all -- rmless, that's a bummer. Is this a permanent moving away on his part? Kellydamnit, here are hugs and whuffles in your direction. You too, lysdexic and sperose.

0) hugs to everyone with family drama - I am seeing my own family [all individually, we are not a puppypile family] this weekend and hoping for the best
1) maybe found an apartment above the awesome house of the women who wrote/illustrated The Pushcart War. That makes sense to me. Will know more in a month. Best of luck to you, Meatbomb, in your apartment hunt.
2) Spent all day taking photos at a marble quarry. Desperately needed out of house time and feel good about it.
3) going to five out of six New England states in the next five days!

1. Just discovered a rather large bleach stain on the lower leg part of my favorite work pants. Nuts.

2. Just got a call from the high school that my errant stepdaughter cut school today.

3. Really, REALLY can't wait for vacation.

lleachie, we have to use Express Scripts, too for any long term medication. It was hell when my son was on Concerta for ADHD. They would only fill one prescription at a time, so every two weeks I had to get another prescription from the doctor and send it in, in order not to run out of his meds. That was partly the reason I took him off of the drug after a year. He's much better now.

Thanks, lleachie! Yeah, he's moving to Columbus for the foreseeable future. It's been a fun, if short, relationship. I wish we could see it to the real end, because I think we are incredibly compatible. And he is hot. Oh well, I did get an invitation to visit, so I am planning on it sometime in late July I think.
Congrats on your first fpp! I am still too scared of being yelled at to make one :)
