He's finally bigger than the cat. This is Otto at 14 weeks. Because we all need some cuteness.

LoriFL how's Goldie? Taz how's the new pooch? Any others care to chime in on the pooch report?

More here, but you may need insulin.

We just had a pooch scare over here- Twinkie was barking at Smike (my parents' boxer), and Smike jumped on top of her, and I thought he was going to kill her. I guess he thought he was playing, because he didn't appear to hurt her- I guess he was just nuzzling her. It still scared me, my mother, and my sister to death as we dragged them apart.

Ha! Love the pics! Your cat looks THRILLED to death in that first one.

Sounds scary, TPS... my Irish wolfhound did something like that to a friend's small dog one time, and I just KNEW she had swallowed it whole. Scared the crap out of me.

The first picture is so awesome!!

BP, how do you like your Irish wolfhound? They are super high on my list as far as a dog that would be good for me. My sister has a Great Dane, so I'm pretty familiar with the big dog issues, but how about an Irish wolfhound's personality?

how about an Irish wolfhound's personality?

Ours is the only one I've ever known, but she is an absolute angel. A little spastic, but just a happy, good-natured, low-maintenance kinda dog in almost every way.

My grandparents had an Irish wolfhound when my mom was little. In fact, Finn taught my aunt to walk as an infant. She would hold on to his fur, and he'd slowly stand up and walk really slowly with her. My mom remembers when he died; she and her siblings were really upset as their mom sent them all in for naps - they thought they were too old. Then she got the constuction guys from the business next door to dig a hole (they used a backhoe) six feet deep. Two years ago we visited the old house. It's still there, and where Finn is buried is still a grassy lot.

Thank you, very good to hear all that. I love the bigger breeds - they seem to always have the best personalities.
