BP Radio: It's been quite a day. I'm ready to unwind with some music... and when I unwind with music, it tends to be kinda loud. Starting at midnight Eastern (about 5 minutes from now).
Statue of Liberty! I just went looking for the Pandora window to tell them I love this song and then remembered where it was coming from - Hurrah XTC! yay BP! God I love this song. It was on the radio the other morning when I was driving into work and it just made me so happy. . .
/me has been drinking with moonbird. /me is so damn drunk. . .
The music is nice but doesn't exactly fit an early morning sensibility. Which is a pity since it's 7:25 here.
Cheers, it's going to be a wonderful sunny day here.
Especially since I didn't even KNOW she'd released anything since 1995 or so... apparently she was leading a group called The Creatures for several years and released her first true solo effort last fall. Sounds like somebody was bluffing and it wasn't me.
My son in middle school became enamored of Devo and we had to get all their albums and then we had to argue fiercely over why I would not spend $90 on a flowerpot Devo hat and then my brother had to weigh in with the story of how he got suspended from school for wearing a Devo suit and meanwhile, my son wrote a poignant and thoughtful fan letter to Devo at the best email address we could find after many minutes of perusing the world wide web for some Devo contact info. My son told them that he was founding a Devo fan club at Asheville Middle School, possibly the first Devo fan club in some years given that this was 2004 or thereabouts and you know what? Those fuckers never emailed him back. Nobody did. And then they made a Target commercial. Fuck Devo.
Speaking of Rock and Roll: Sunday's Bizarro (and it should be noted that the musician somewhat resembles artist Dan Piraro (except for missing his ubiquitous cigar)
And Devo jumped the shark years ago when they recorded a remake of David Seville's "Witch Doctor" for the soundtrack of a Rugrats movie. And then there was DEV2.0. Let's face it, they have devolved into a lower life form.

Good grief, surely you jest?
The Creatures (a duo of Siouxsie and Creatures/Banshees drummer Budgie) put out their first record in 1981 - well before the Banshees even hit their peak - and released stuff sporadically over the next 15 years. Some speculate that the "true" end of the Creatures has been cemented, now that she's separated non-amicably from Budgie.
Her solo album is good, but it doesn't own my heart like some of her more historically lauded stuff does.
