I made a muxtape in honor of my back neighbor finally taking her laundry down! after seven days. So here are some ploffy tunes to bubble and agitate to.
What? No Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" ("kick em when they're up, kick em when they're down") or The Detegents' "Leader of the Laundromat" (pitch-perfect parody of "Leader of the Pack")?
And you could have so much fun with American detergent brands: "Surf's Up", "The Tide is High", "When We Were Fab" "All or Nothing at All" "Bold as Love" or anything by Blue Cheer.
And I always think of "Take Me to the River" as a "washing me down" song, more than The Standells' "Dirty Water"...
I thought maybe the Don Henley might be too obvious/easy... I had some different ones I tried in place of Dirty Water - and yeah, I wasn't 100% on that one, but I'm not convinced that "Take Me to the River" fits. I'm up for other replacements on that one, though.
I also left out Emmylou Harris' (or Joni Mitchell's) "Magdalene Laundries" which is gorgeous, but too sad for my laundromat.
