What's awesome? You guys are awesome! Also, this is awesome:

I now have a big old, battered 2000ml Pyrex beaker chock full of bright yellow daffodils parked in my cube, courtesy of the intern whom I've been assisting all week with a horrendously detailed project mapping exercise. DAFFODILS! IN A BEAKER!! I mean, how frickin' cool is that?!

Someone just told me that wearing argyle automatically raises your IQ by, like, 20 points (I have argyle tights on today). I'll take it!

I have chicken green chile enchiladas from the taqueria up the street. Well, had. They're gone now, but omg were they ever yum! Awesome!

AWESOME!

I'm having black beans and goldfish for a late lunch! Dinner will be eaten after tonight's Good Friday service! WOO WOO!

I think it's possible my boss may be distracted enough this weekend to not touch all my work while I'm off having a life! YAY!

I have theatre tickets for Saturday and Sunday afternoons, which makes me hap hap happy!

WOOOOOO YAAAAAA WEEEEEE!

The other upside of daffodils? Deer will not eat them.
The downside of daffodils? You can't put any other flowers in a vase with them, as the goo they excrete wilts other flowers. (probably the reason deer won't eat them)

My mom tells me that the year i was born there was a huge field of daffodils surrounding the house i was born in, and that since i was born on the vernal equinox, i narrowly escaped being named Vernal (Vern for short.) A close call for sure, and for that i am eternally thankful.

I've been off work today, got my eyes checked out and new glasses ordered, and just woke up from a nice long nap. AWESOME!

Also: you can't do the Snoopy dance without the appropriate music! (does the funny sleepwalking-in-place dance)

Things that were awesome today: I managed to get through all of my errands, which included 2 doctors appointments, picking up a prescription, and dropping off a package at the Post Office.

Equally as awesome: I didn't have copays at either doctor.

Supreme awesome: I spent very little $ today (only $3.13 of real money, about $50 from my FSA).

Awesome:
In the last two days, I have:
1) fixed the bench that the drunk driver bent up last November*
2) got the watercourse/mini pond operative again
3) did some early weeding
4) rototilled a new "Kitty garden" plot in memory of my Kitty**
5) burned off the debris of two raised vegetable plots and around the watercourse/mini pond

And my break will give me even MORE time to fix up the yard!

*after driving through our yard, destroying our moon garden trellis and bench, taking out the neighbor's fence, cracking the neighbor's foundation, taking her central a/c unit off its mooring, crashing through another portion of fence, swerving back into our yard and hitting the side of our house at 3 AM right next to the bedroom

**Kitty died a year ago. Yes, her name was Kitty, short for Kitty Kitty Kitty-Kitty. She was an odd-eyed white, age 10, and the self-elected neighborhood goodwill ambassador. We had to put her to sleep after she became paralyzed by a saddleback thrombosis.
