Look at the beautiful pottery Omiewise made! <3 [More:]

These pieces are so beautiful, no way I could do them justice with my digital camera. I so wish I had a light box. The smaller is a tea bowl and it fits SO perfectly in my hands. They wrap around it perfectly like it was custom made. The other is a cruet. The glaze and the color don't come through here, nor do the fabulous textures.

He's a craftsman. These are wonderful, and I'm going to treasure them.

Did he send them to you as gifts (if so I am so jealous!), or is he selling his pieces now?

Really nice. And very utilitarian, seems like, as well as beautiful. The one on the left looks like it could have contained the oil that Mary Magdeline anointed Jesus's feet with.

Those are gorgeous! I have such a weakness for beautiful pottery. What amro said--is he selling his work?

Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous. I can't throw pots for crap. I took a class with my sister a few years ago and the pieces I made look like they're made of play-doh. (My sister on the other hand just kind of looks at the clay and it suddenly becomes a pot.) I also suffered a nasty bruise when the woman next to me didn't attach the--whatchacallit disk thing that attaches to the wheel--properly and it flew off and hit me in the arm.

Pottery=pain. I'm in awe of Omie.

I can't throw either! I just can't keep my hands still long enough.

No, he doesn't sell his work...I've already asked him at least three times. I hope he does something in the future though. He needs to outfit himself with a nice studio somewhere. These pieces are so fantastic. There are photos of some of his other things at flickr, too.

Beautiful work, OmieWise!

So jealous, tho'. I've wanted to try pottery for years and just haven't had the opportunity.

He does indeed make exceptionally beautiful contributions to this world, some but not all of them in clay.

Lovely!

A cruet is a bong, right?

Hey, thanks for the kind words! I've had a really good time the past couple of years starting to learn how to make functional pottery, and this past fall some things really came together for me. (And a cruet is totally a bong.)
