Tonight's Chicken Shepard's Pie is about half done. The chicken is cooling, the potatoes are boiling, the veggies are chopping, and the current lady friend is packing a bowl. Life ain't too bad, although that may just be the Scorpio martinis talking.

DW: A Scorpio martini is my conversion of a Scorpion cocktail into a martini: dark rum, brandy, triple sec, a splash of lemon juice, and an almond. I keep forgetting to buy amaretto.

wendell: That first supply ran out long ago, I'm probably on my third or fourth batch by now.

jrossi: The only martini glass I have left is from the Playboy Club's Halloween party. I hope you don't mind.

I went to a veggie vietnamese restaurant today and got an incredibly yummy bowl of curry noodles. It had a fake soy chicken leg that tasted so much like chicken it was scary. (Texture was creepy, though.) This ball of soychik was wrapped around a short piece of bamboo, so that it looked like a frenched chicken leg with the bone protruding. It was awesome and frightening (and tasty), all at once.

Way too drunk to try to smooth the mashed potatoes over the top, so I stuck 'em in a freezer bag and snipped off the corner to pipe 'em onto the top. I hope I remember this next time.

That sounds good, too, mudpuppie! Did they deep fry it?

LOL! Someone once gave me a can of vegan (fake) chicken soup (Annie's?) that tasted so real I couldn't finish it. Bizarre.

Nah, mischief, it wasn't fried. I couldn't tell you how in the hell it was prepared, other than steeped in yummy curry/coconut broth. I wish I'd taken a picture.
