Thanksgiving-week Three-Point Update [More:]
1. Mrs. Doohickie finished her current master's seminar and is a third of the way there!

2. We're having friends over for Thanksgiving; no travel for us.

3. With Mrs. Dooh going all vegetarian lately, I'm kind of wondering how Thanksgiving will turn out...
Prior to driving home for, Thanksgiving, I have to do three things:

1. Finish my paper on Titus Andronicus as a critique of religion an' shit;
2. Pick up my car from the garage, and
3. See John Edwards, Bonnie Raitt, and Jackson Browne speak tomorrow. Given the likelihood of some kind of question/answer session, anybody have an idea for something I should ask, if I get the chance?

Ask John how he intends "to make America a force for good in the world again."

When he said that a few months ago, he became my man, but... now I wonder how he's gonna do it.

1) We don't do thanksgiving... but my family is already making life hell in advance of christmas
2) I am happy that the huge pile of work I've just been handed, and yet am not doing, should be taken care of quite quickly by scripts I wrote last week!
3) Last week. Do you hear me? LAST WEEK!!!! Mwahahahahaaaaaa!

1. Took the GRE. Yay done!

2. Get some work done.

3. Play through Portal so my boyfriend will stop harassing me about the goddamn cake.

1. I have three types of cranberries refrigerating and ready to serve.
2. I have two types of cookie dough chilling.
3. I have one squash dip appetizer ready to reheat and serve.
4. I have two loaves of cranberry-nut bread in the oven.
5. I have six types of whiskey in the liquor cabinet.

Oh, that's five-points, but I will stop there.

1. Just put a turkey in the freezer.
2. Tomorrow afternoon, doing an all night drive to LA to my mom's.
3. Did this last year, and it's taken me a year to get out of my mind how much frigging driving it is. . The upside. .70 degree weather and one house away from the beach.
4. Taking my wetsuit.

1. I was on TV tonight being shaved for Mustaches for Kids 2007
2. I'll be on TV Thursday wearing a giant turkey costume skating with the Windy City Rollers.
3. I expect to spend a not-insignificant amount of time on Sunday contemplating what a weird life I have.

1. We spent Saturday afternoon with my mom and her family.
2. We hit various open-air markets yesterday for Science Girl's birthday, then went out for dinner.
3. I will be working T-Day, but SG's Mom & step-dad will come over early for dinner, so I will at least have some turkey. (Which is currently resting in the fridge here at work, since we forgot to buy one earlier.)

1. Trying to enjoy today and tomorrow before the shit hits the fan. Loading up the iPod, making a list of crap I need to buy tomorrow, including dog food (for my dog, who will be treated like a client later this week), PB&J fixings, bananas, granola bars, Diet Coke, and several packs of Camel Lights

2. Noting to self that I *really* need an oil change.

3. Dreading Friday like a motherF. I'll be awaking around 5:30 in the AM and lucky to be in bed by 11:30 PM. Folks in retail (including my sister) have nothing on pet-sitters, even on Black Friday.

3.5 Small reminder, since none of you are clients of mine -- if you're using a pet-sitter this week, tips are nice. We bust balls and neglect our families so you can hang with yours.

3.75 - Reminding myself that sanity will resume on Sunday.

I wasn't included anywhere.
I managed to make a reservation at a restaurant.
I just found out today that workers were denied access to complete the renovation last week because I want to install a garbage disposal. They have been legal in NYC for the past ten years and there is nothing in the bylaws of the building which says I can't install one. The building staff has pulled this crap far too many times. I hate being forced to depend on incompetence.

I want to hurt myself.

brujita: I'm going to take you at your word - please DO NOT hurt yourself. That's not an answer to anything. If you are seriously contemplating self-harm, I urge you to think of someone you can talk to and do so. We are just pixels on your screen - there ain't a whole lot I can do to help you from the other side of the country. But please, seek help if you are at all serious about this.

Honey, you know it's getting to be that difficult time of the year... hang out here with us, and we'll make through all together. I know you've seen a therapist before, and didn't find it helpful, but now might be the perfect time to give that another shot.

1. It was my daughter's birthday yesterday, so we've been focused on that.

2. Thanksgiving has been forgotten. If you bunnies hadn't reminded me, I would never have remembered it. I haven't said anything to the Ms or the kids about it: we obviously don't need it.

3. Time for work.

1. Using today's lunch hour to go to the produce market for brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and carrots.

2. After work, going to crunchy farm to get turkey. Must remember to get cooler and put in car at lunch hour.

3. Looking forward to being at home, cleaning and doing laundry, moving my house toward some semblance of legally habitable dwelling before parents' and friends' arrival Thursday.

1. Had major Thanksgiving summit meeting with mother & daughter last night. Terrifyingly organized. Have lists, will shop and cook.

2. Off work starting tomorrow YAY so I can actually get everything done with less total stress. However got wacky craft idea for centerpiece and will probably neglect actual cleaning/cooking duties to create masterpiece involving glycerin, sugar maple boughs and pumpkins that will then have to be moved to accommodate turkey and 16 or so side dishes.

3. My man will be here tomorrow night. Yes. And he's making the mashed potatoes. Life is good.

1. I have the week off work, for the first time in about a decade. (I had just Thurs. off last year, which was also a "first time in a long time" event.)

2. In light of item 1, we and my mom are going up to my brother's family's place Thursday... partner is taking a couple of dishes, including everybody's favorite, his sweet-potato souffle.

3. I'm spending the rest of this week catching up on some errands, hanging w/ friends (yesterday, and Friday night) and playing Guitar Hero obsessively.

yay! BoPo! Time off! Nothing is happening around here, but I have no choice but to be at the desk all day today and tomorrow. American employers are awful. Meanwhile all those cookies are not going to bake themselves!

I'll try...the synagogue is having an interfaith thing tomorrow night. I've left a message with my lawyer to see if she can help sort out the crap that's happening with my place. No more shrinks though; I had twenty-six years of them--the social coach program was what helped the most.

Pffft. Thanksgiving was LAST month.

My son comes home from Europe tomorrow. Yay! According to the rash of his recently uploaded pictures on Facebook, he's started smoking cigarettes. Not enough boos in the world.

I wrote some stuff last week that I'm happy about.

Instead of just wanting to get out of my job, I'm feeling actively energetic about it.
