Avenue Q. I think that it's coming to Seattle, isn't it?
I was thinking of that expression "on the down-low" which, it was explained to me, refers to African American men with straight orientation going out and getting some occasional dick, in secret.
I have been thinking that our friend Larry possibly fits that term. A straight guy who realizes that a bit of manflesh now and then is a good thing.
This whole, "I'm straight but I like a lil sausage from time to time" is utterly ridiculous, and perpetrates the idea that sex is something we should be ashamed of, especially sex with someone who's got the same body parts. It equates "faggy" behaviors (which are often characterised as feminine behaviors, by the way) as lower-class. Being "on the down low" is a sexy and dangerous-sounding cover for the fact that you like to take it in the ass, and you'd prefer that your girlfriend/wife/friends not find out. You're cheating, but it doesn't count, right?
I still can't see how they thought it was actually going to be embraced in Vegas though. They built a whole theatre for it & everything, but it lasted like five minutes there. It was way too cutting edge and intelligent for Vegas... not enough boobs. (Puppet sex isn't as big of a draw.)
"People come to Vegas to see something they can't find anywhere else," said Kutash, whose latest production, the topless "Headlights and Tailpipes," will open soon at the Stardust.
