Whatcha doing this long, holiday weekend? →[More:]I have quite a calendar. I'm catsitting some kitties that I have to visit and feed every day (although they're so fat, a few days without food might do them some good).
Friday: Kitty visit, Home Depot trip to buy paint for living room, party thrown by high school friends in the Heights
Saturday: Painting, macaroni & cheese extravaganza with dame, concert and/or food with Thug & Co.
Sunday: Church, potluck BBQ (oh s^#%, what am I going to bring?), trip to IKEA with the Habibs who I have not seen in FOREVER.
Monday: Who knows!

Our holiday was last weekend, but it looks as if there's going to be a 3-day tube strike next week, starting at 6.00pm on Monday, so I may get a few days at home next week.

Going to the Palenque Ruins in Chiapas, Mexico! Hiking in the Rainforest! Freaking out about Dengue fever and Malaria! Being really really moist 24/7!

Say hi to dame! What color are you painting the room?

Fri night - driving to the beach: LBI
Sat - fishing and laying around and reading
Sun - doing more of the same, and then coming home to see my daughter, who's coming home from college for the holiday
Mon - no plans at all! Something picknicky will happen.

I will be camping on Crane Mountain, an isolated mountain offering clear distant views of Vermont's Green Mountains, Lake George, Blue, Speculator, Snowy and several other mountains. There are also distant views of the Adirondack High Peaks. A mile from the summit is Crane Mountain Pond, where I will take a clean, cold swim. The first 1.5 mile of this trail is easy, then it climbs 700 feet in .5 mile. To reach the peak, I will have to climb 6 foot and 15 foot ladders.

Nothing much, but TPS and dame have moved me to make mac & cheese. Mmmm.

Giving the apartment a good clean. Baking bread. Farmer's market. Pride & Prejudice. Write some actual paper letters!

Probably dinner with my mom one of these evenings. Several family friends have had surgery this month, and she's shaken. We'll get together and make casseroles to take to her recently-released friends, then have a drink and dinner.

Well, right now my living room is Behr "Pink Chintz", but I've decided the pink just isn't working (hard to decorate around pink), so I'm taking the living room to a light steely blue "Sapphireberry". Or "Airy", I haven't totally decided yet.

Tonight- Going to see SuperBad with hubby if sis will watch the kids. Maybe we'll stop for a little drink and a bite if we have time.

Saturday - beach, if it doesn't rain.

Sunday - working ALL day.

Monday - hanging out with the family at my parent's house. Barbeque and board games are on the agenda.

All the Behr paint names are great. My bedroom is "Windjammer" blue, and the finalists for the living room were (are?) Airy, Sapphireberry, Serene Sky, and Minereal Water.

Tonight - couch, cuddle, code, *cough* ... the usual

Tomorrow - more usual, probably some errands. Finish installing the net on the new trampoline. It's fun. Also, college football!

Sunday -appointment to possibly sign-up at new gym that's deliciously walkable from home. Can I justify to myself spending $30/mo for something I get for free at work? Work gym is functional enough, so I'd be paying pretty much solely for a vast improvement in atmosphere.

Monday - a fantasy football draft and housewarming at old college friend's place.

Tonight - Dinner with a new friend (a New Zealander!) who lives around the block from us and works with mr. gaspode and knows my best friend and college roommate.

Tomorrow - gym, new ink, might wander around the Met for a bit. Don't have plans for tomorrow evening. Would like to see Superbad.

Sunday - long (for me = 5 miles) run, visit friends' new baby

Monday - Cyclones game at Coney Island

Still feeling kind of creepy from yesterdays sudden mystery virus, so probably I won't do much at all this weekend. Almost certainly need to come in and work for a few hours to make up for the sick day. Sheesh. I am going to try to make the outdoor sculpture exhibition opening at the park tonight; a couple of old friends are in the show. Then, if I feel a lot better tomorrow and get my work done, I might just go camping.

10 years ago, I was in a pretty-ok country-rock band. I just recently came across a bunch of stuff that we recorded, and I decided it'd be fun to digitize it and try to get it a little more exposure than it got when we were still active. So I'm putting up a website with music and pics and such. Actually, I just posted one song to MeFi Music, and stashed some old show posters up at Flickr.

Tonight: dinner with friends, see their backyard update and so on
Tomorrow: gym, blissful time at home, Andrew Bird is playing and I really want to go, and I wish I was the kind of person who liked to go to gigs alone, but I'm not. Anyone want to join me?
Sunday: B and the kids come up for the day, Aquarium!!
Monday: Nice 5 or 6 mile walk with the borrowed dog. Dinner with my mom.

Tonight: My ex, who has not seen his kids in a year and only spoken to them three times this year, is coming to get them for the weekend. I waver between being a bitch (when he said he'd keep them until Monday, I tersely said "You mean you'd like to keep them until Monday?" and knowing that no matter what, they love their dad, and he's gone through rough times, and he does the best he can.
Tomorrow: Working.
Sunday: Day off!!
Monday: Day off!! No idea what we're doing.
Tuesday: Day off!! My regular day off - works out well for these long weekends. Probably last minute back to school stuff.

Tonight: Watching Season 2 of The West Wing

Saturday: Getting my car serviced in the a.m., checking out a Labour Day housewares sale and having dinner with my best friends to catch up on our trips - mine to Peru and theirs to Japan

Sunday: Sleeping in, using my waffle iron for the second time to make blueberry waffles for brunch with my family, go for a run and possibly more West Wing.

Monday: Sleeping in, maybe go to the gym, clean my room or not, considering I've been putting it off all summer.

Tonight: back from lifeguard training
Tomorrow: more lifeguard training and hopefully certification
Tomorrow night: die, nurse sore muscles, cocktail party at my friend's house whose dad (who she hasn't seen in ten years) is visiting. Try to charm dad, soothe friend.
Sunday: resume death & recuperation, laundry, swim?
Monday: looks like nothing. try to knock off some towns from last 38 I haven't been to, rope some poor sucker friend into going with me. prepare for birthday (on Weds.) and try to resume Virgo Month of Leisure leisuretime activities.
