Gotta shout out mad sweet props to my man mike9322.
occhiblu and I got the Buffy box set and it has been like the mainstay of our evening entertainment for the past month.

Ha! I missed mike's post about it, because you know I would have been all up in that talking about the awesomeness that is Buffy.

(and when you're done watching all the eps, you can subscribe to Season 8!)

haha. I watched the whole series right after my ex and I broke up. It was perfect for post-break-up escapism. DVDs are great. I can't imagine having the patience to watch all these on TV. Then I tried to get into Angel, but it didn't work.

Angel gets better after the first season, if I remember correctly.

I do remember it sucking, a LOT, at the beginning. But it did get better, and there was that brief period when both Angel and Buffy were great, then everything started going downhill.

Sigh.

Yeah, Angel really hit its stride mid-late season 2. And it had a wicked-awesome ending.

I did eventually watch all the seasons except the last one. By then I couldn't make myself turn the thing on. When Cordelia first got weird and then was basically written out, it took all the fun out. I DID like how Wesley turned out, though. Fred, however, whom everyone seems to like, went from irritating to really really irritating. Jeez.

Here endeth my review of Angel, The Series.

So which episode was it that Buffy could hear everyone's thoughts? I've been meaning to watch that one again.

Earshot, I believe. The one that was rescheduled following Columbine.

right! I forgot about that!

*giggles* Buffy Season 8 is the reason why I'm coming back to floppies. Otherwise, I'm kinda pissed off at the comics industry right now.

Ohmigod I hated Fred. Fred's appearance on the show was basically when I started hating Angel again.

Heh, I've never heard 'em called floppies before. Season 8 are the first floppies I've subscribed to, then. That doesn't seem right at all.

So all mike did to earn said props is to recommend sticking out the first season of Buffy? Too easy.

Family is in town, but I just decided to check in on my bunnies while they're (my family, not my bunnies) getting ready for bed, and I find a front-page shoutout!

*gets down with his bad self*

Fellow Fred haters unite!

I really do wonder what happened to make the writers do such horrendous things to all the female characters on Angel.

*pines for some more Joss Whedon*

Oh, no, actually I meant that I wouldn't have known the box set was on sale in the Amazon Gold Box without him. It was only $2.47475 per disc!

dano: In the "scene" they're either called "floppies" or "pamphlets" but I like using floppies more.

I don't have an opinion of Fred either way because I didn't get into Angel as much as I did Buffy. I remember watching the Angel series as a part of the Tuesday night TV watching when I was working for Wizard. But that was pre-Fred, I think.
