I'm not surprised by the guy who has some fixation that lasts over so many years and takes obsessive forms via letters (if we can assume the person who has been tracked down is the letter-sender) and internet, but I'm very puzzled about how he pinpointed his targets, without (apparently) living in the same city or being directly connected to the university.

I hope we learn more about this.

Great story and a little searching shows the author may not have all the answers yet but the facts she has presented are true. The named dude definitely runs the web sites and has spread the duclod jokes and comments all over the web. What she has yet to do is definitively connect the guy with the letters.
