I hope the pups aren't, er, despatched once the thief realises they are mongrels with no monetary value.

EJ - the whole labradoodle "hybrid" craze has started a trend where people are breeding different dogs and selling/marketing the new pups as "designer dogs" - some of the bigger designer dogs in the states (at least in the midwest) right now are: pugats (pugs/rat terriers which people are marketing as mini-boxers), shih-poos (shih tzu/mini poodles)and yorkie poos (yorkshire terriers/mini poodles)

Basically people are wanting small dogs that are like big dogs and/or have the non-shedding poodle coat. (Basic problems - pugs/rat terriers don't have the boxer disposition, a lot of the poodle mixes end up having shedding coats, and on and on.)

I've even seen people marketing Chugs (chihuahua/pug) - which is what my dog is. She's cute but um she's a mutt that I got from a shelter.

That's what I don't get. Paying high amounts of money for "designer crossbreed dogs". Not when 8 million dogs and cats get put to sleep every year for lack of homes. Give me a shelter dog or stray cat anyday.
