I agree! I love them so. At my old college, you could have them sent to the college library, which was so convenient. The librarian called me her "favorite customer".

Yep. My books get sent to the State Library, which is right next door. Now if only they would build a tunnel to the library so I don't have to go out in the cold . . . .

Oh yes, I used to get articles sent to me all the time. The ILL officer at my college only failed me once - I was looking for a biology article published in 1890! I had a citation for it, but the only remaining copy was in some archive in DC, and I would have had to visit personally. Boo.

In Boulder they go one better. You reserve the item and when it comes in, they mail it to your home. If you need it past the due date, you can renew online. The library system here rocks.

Yay URSUS! It is great that the entire state shares resources via one catalog.

JanetLand, I can, indeed, walk through a tunnel to the library next door. No need for inter-library loan here!

For out-of-print books, one would be hard pressed not to champion ILL. Oh, and textbooks too.

Yes, it is.

I agree! I live in a small town with a small library, but I can get my hands on almost any book in the world (well, at least in the United States) through the ILL system. Thumbs up!
