Faith-based murders? Hey, the recent case of Lashaun Harris made me think of this, but I've blown my AskMe (a week and three hours until the next one).

I seem to remember some other God-told-me-to-kill-my-kid stuff, but I can't seem to turn it up on google. Anyone got any recollection of other cases like this? Aside from Abraham?

Did Yates say that God had told her to? I know she was weirdo-religious, but I didn't think that was the reason she gave.

Some cases here (a chapter from a book on abuse of children by clergy/religious nuts), including a case in Maine in 1984 where the mom of a 4-year old girl (though her boyfriend was mostly driving the situation) decided that the little girl was Lucifer, and they burned her to death in the oven.

Oh, recently a woman was judged insane after she dropped her three children one by one off of a bridge. I believe she thought she was doing this for a higher power. I just read about this, too. I'll try to find the link.
