New video - Behave - by Charlotte Hatherley (until recently guitarist for Ash) is now on Youtube - and it's rather fine.
Nice - I've been waiting for this. Interesting choice for a single as it's not that instant - certainly nothing like as catchy as Summer, Debbie Harry or Bastardo. Still, I'm really looking forward to the album - more so than the Ash one (whenever that appears).
I'm looking forward to the new album too (it's got a song co-written with Andy Partridge so that's a bonus). I read on her site that she's releasing this album herself which sounds very brave to me and worthy of support.
As for Ash, well, I thought their last album was pretty boring but I'll probably get the next one anyway.
Ash tend to have 2 or 3 killer tracks per album (usually the singles) and that's about it. They really, really need a singer - Tim Wheeler's voice is so weedy that it ruins them.
Anyway - yay Charlotte Hatherley and new new solo career.

Perhaps, but I do have a soft spot for them. I listened to 1977 incessantly during my 2nd year exams, and then Free All Angels came out during my finals and it was on loop as I revised for my last exam. Even today you only have to say the phrase "later Roman Empire" or "decline and fall" to zap me straight back to my last exam. And then I went to see them play at one of the university's summer events. I have very vague memories of being extremely drunk and being at the front pogoing up and down. Afterwards I am told I walked round as if in a trance muttering "I touched Tim Wheeler's hand! I touched Tim Wheeler's hand!".
I knew this would happen... * climbs up to get copy of Ash's singles album * 1977 was a cool album, IIRC. Mainly because it started with a Star Wars sound effect. It does have to be said that they're a damn fine singles band.
