It always amazes me how quickly someone in AskMe will pop up with the same unusual condition as the OP.

I'm almost tempted to make something up just to see if anyone chimes in.

Upon reading your description, I was thinking hiatal hernia, which is a thing my Dad has. If he tries to hard to swallow it down, food "bounces." Please get it checked out, definitely. Dad started having a Tums before every meal and it helped, but then aggravated his kidney stone problem. My Dad is wearing out*, as you can probably tell, but this problem started out fairly early.

*This makes me sad. I love my dad.
