MeCha Diggers? Are there any MeCha-zites that are also Diggers? Want to form a MeCha Cabal (MeChaBal?)?→[More:]I'm Johnny Huh over there, won't you be my friend?
I read Digg the same way I used to read slash/dot. I look at the content but rarely read the comments as they're usually pretty unremarkable. On Mefi and Mecha it's more of a "Come for the links, but stay for the comments" situation (and sometimes it's really just all about the comments).
I am wendellwit on digg (and anywhere else I can't get the simple 'wendell' as a nick). But what could we all get together and "Digg-up"? Besides our own blogs...
Part of my interest in Digg is because I have an idea for a site with some Digg aspects to it but more useful and less annoying.
mischief, why do you say banal? I've found it to be a pretty interesting site, lots of uselessness, lots of idiotic ranting but sometimes there's a great link or a breaking story. Like, did you know Mt. St. Helen's is erupting right now? I didn't.
Every time I have visited, reading through the most popular links was like reading through the playlist of a Top 40 station. I have never found anything there interesting enough to move me into investigating the site deeper.
My username there is mottram, but I don't really use it much - digg is only really palatable via RSS, where there's no danger of accidentally reading a comment.
