Buddhanature is not something that we possess nor is it something we can be. It is the nature of things, just as they are. To realize buddhanature, to live in accord with this awakening, is the truth that alleviates suffering in the world.

A fine day under the blue sky!
Don’t foolishly look here and there.
If you still ask “What is buddha?”
It is like pleading your innocence
while clutching stolen goods.

Well, that says it all. I have obviously attained buddha-hood. You may now sacrifice small animals to me.

Mine's a large G+T then a running supply of good red wine, thanks. Oh mind, gotcha.

Damei also once famously asked Master Mazu, "Dude - you know that thing chicks do with their faces when they know you're lookin' at 'em - man, I hate that!"

Yep, I agree as to become aware of everything and everyone, and the harmony that should exist between things, then realising the disharmony between most people on the planet - you'd want to fix them. Due to the fact that this apparently isn't economically or dogmatically viable at this time (but thanks for calling! We appreciate your input. /obsequious voice), the buddhahood of the world (as such) is looking quite far off.

A nice cup of tea and a sit down works wonders too.
