More sisterly love! My cat Kaylee completely rocks.

Yesterday I left the house around 1:30 to drop my daughter off at her mom's. As I was leaving, I closed her bedroom door because I don't like the cats to be in there, especially not now that her Christmas tree is set up and ripe for ornament-batting.
I got home around 9:30 that night after dinner and the comedy club. When I walked in, Kaylee came sprinting for the door, meowing incessently. Okay, okay, I said, and leaned down to rub her belly. I kicked off my shoes, grabbed a drink from the fridge, and walked back towards my bedroom to change. Kaylee followed me everywhere I went, meowing the whole time. Geez, I thought, she's dying for attention today. I changed and started walking back towards the living room and realized, I haven't seen Lance. Normally he comes out to greet me too. I looked at Kaylee and said "Where's Lance?" If cats could make facial expressions, she gave me the "that's what I've been trying to tell you, dumbass" look and ran to my daughter's door. I opened the door and out sprinted Lance, all wide-eyed and crouchy. He and Kaylee touched noses as if to say "OMG I WAS SO WORRIED" and "OMG DON'T WORRY IM OKAY!". He meowed angrily at me and then ran (still all crouchy) back to his food bowl and then out to the living room, presumably to make sure that everything was still as it was before his imprisonment, and finally collapsed on the floor. Kaylee looked at me and meowed one more time.
Stupid human.
