There's a pub in Stratford, East London, named The Pigeons. Everyone called it 'The Pigeons', a local landmark. It's next to Bow County Court and I'd usually go in there at lunchtimes for a sandwich on days when I was stuck at court.

One day I turned up to The Pigeons to find that it had been themed by the brewery and had been re-named "It's A Scream". The theme, yes, you've guessed it, was Munch's angst-ridden painting.

I cannot imagine a less appropriate pub theme, especially a pub next to a court which does a roaring trade in home repossessions and children being taken into care.

It's now The Pigeons again, and hopefully will always remain so.

EJ, untill recently, there was a hot dog cart across from the central precinct and courthouse in Portland called "The Taxpayers' Grill."

There was speculation that the Munch robbery was part of series that included bank robberies. Wha happen? Obviously, I have not been keeping track.
