My boss' boss insulted my work ethic this morning, for the last time. I quit; I'm coming in tomorrow to help sort out my absence, and I've requested an exit interview. I've been yearning to breathe free for awhile. Anyone want to grab a beer this evening?

Yes sir, quitting is one of the great human acts, hurray for you. I cannot get away at all tonight, but I will celebrate your quitting with you at the next closest opportunity. A good quit lasts quite a while, I've found.

Right on Hugh! I've done the same thing myself, though maybe for different reasons. Quite a refreshing feeling. I even had people offering me work right away when word got out.

Oof, that's a toughie, me3dia. Family and business get tightly wound up. Good luck on that one.

I feel like I'm made of steel right now, like what that boss said to me just galvanized me and left me with a hard shell and a lot of working, moving gears inside. I never feel particularly driven, per se, but right now I feel like I'm finally rolling forward.

I hope I don't roll over any insects.
