There's a bunch of rotten stuff in my fridge. Now I know who to send it to.
posted by mudpuppie 10 August | 19:11
Let me see, that's actually tough: this month I've got a shirt via essexjan, seeds from pup, and pr0n comics from trishalynn. More bunnies! I want to buy the world a bunny!
posted by pieisexactlythree 10 August | 19:11
Pup, compost is always appreciated. Maybe I'll start pocket mulching.

I hope that even though I am not a "mefite" - whatever that is - since my writing and thought have a large effect on US policy, that is to say, my thoughts on American hegemony have a profound impact on all of you, I hope to be welcome here.

Being a major magazine publisher and commentator is tiring, and this place looks great for kicking back!!

Seriously, though, MetaChat is a really cool site. I've had it bookmared since I saw it on Coop's blog. You guys should check it out.

Did they name a beverage after you, Billy?
posted by wendell 10 August | 19:45
I'm not sure I understand, Wendell.

This post was deleted for the following reason: not post worthy
posted by ericb 10 August | 20:52
My intent, Getoffmylawn, was to make a humorous statement about the subject matter in the internet linked short film. I hope sincerely that no offense was taken.

I am aware that I have somewhat of a negative reputation, but recent personal issues - that I hope to talk about somewhat here once I'm properly familiarized with all of you!! - have made me realize that I need to "lighten up", so here I am.
posted by Bill Kristol 10 August | 21:09
hey Bill, aren't you due up in CT to run Joe's campaign?
posted by amberglow 10 August | 21:25
I'd really rather keep politics off this internet, Amberglow. I'm trying to cut loose here!! After what's been happening to me recently, that is, certain things that have to change, I'd rather not talk about that kind of thing.
posted by Bill Kristol 10 August | 21:35
Hey Bill, can you give us any trivia about yourself that doesn't come straight from your Wiki page? We're all friends here. Open up!

And whoever you are, you're going to have to try harder. It really just ain't as side-splittingly funny as you'd like it to be. Sorry.
posted by mudpuppie 10 August | 21:39
Just trying to fit in here, Mudpuppie!! ;P

Forget trivia--I want to know the truth about Kimberlin.
posted by box 10 August | 21:50
Yeah, I can see that. We need more neocon-celebrity-sockpuppets around here just to balance things out.

Dibs on Ann Coulter.

I counted 44 caterpillars on my butterfly weed plants today before I lost my place and gave up.

I planted more butterfly weed this year (including some of the pink asclepias incarnata (swamp milkweed) which I will have to keep well watered) so next year I will have even more baby monarchs. Yaaaaay. I have been researching other host plants too, so I can order some this fall and try to get more types of caterpillars. I have some plants that are supposedly hosts, but either the butterflies do not find them or the right ones have not visited because they are always empty. Or the caterpillars are just few in number/get eaten by birds before I find them. The monarch caterpillars do have the anti-bird advantage since they eat a poisionous plant and most things do not want to eat them.

THIS CONCLUDES OUR CATERPILLAR DISCUSSION.

That, my dear, goml, is something you'd need a TV to know about.

As for me, I'm just trying to figure out why the "pundit repellant spray" didn't work.

Butterfly weed? Can you smoke it?
posted by birdherder 10 August | 23:10
No but it is a little known fact that if you go outside shortly after midnight with a flourescent lightsource (other light will make them hide), you can see monarchs sitting on the leaves blowing little smoke rings like Gandalf pondering which path to take in the depths of Moria.
posted by weretable and the undead chairs 10 August | 23:19
well, that sure took a turn for the unexpected.

Astounding. I can't take a moral argument seriously from any of you who jumped at the opportunity to take advantage of an honest mistake. I don't want to hear ever again about greedy corporations or crooked politicians. You people just showed that you're willing to turn a blind eye when it is to your benefit. How does that make you any different from those you rail against?
posted by GeckoDundee 11 August | 06:43
We have cameras.
posted by taz 11 August | 07:12
No, taz. We have televisions. But ftw anyway.

Or should it be "we have butterfly weed"? Cos that would be sweet.
posted by GeckoDundee 11 August | 08:59
Yeah... I wuz going to say "televisions", but I just couldn't; I had to go with the classic.
posted by taz 11 August | 09:24
we have boxes
posted by pieisexactlythree 11 August | 09:30
No, no. You are quite right to go with the classic, taz. I'm glad you did. But sadly, the education of the youth of amerika is declining in more than one way.

(Vale MiHail)

And Π/3, that should be "boxen", no?
posted by GeckoDundee 11 August | 09:58
I like b0xx0|2$
posted by pieisexactlythree 11 August | 09:59
As you should. And I should've said Π=3. My mistake.

(I havent a clue what b0xx0|2$ means. Which would pretty much serve me right).
